Twisting the words that are still in my throat
You drag me way down to lift yourself higher
Delicately place a catalyst inside
Of heinous, wretched, dark desires
Shot a blind man
With a gun
To justify you calling me
Unholy scum
So wish me well
‘Cause I’m going straight to hell
What’s grey to my eyes is coal black to yours
And therefore you judge me for how I see colour
The distance between us absorbs your compassion
Endlessly making your consciousness duller
Convinced I’m a monster, a looser, a fiend
‘Cause I see with my ears and you don’t with your eyes
Fooling yourself into thinking you’re something
Delusional, falsely insisting that I am
Screaming
About something
Screaming
But saying nothing
Screaming
With every inch of my breath
Screaming
… Something about death?

God these guy's rock. Had the other two albums, came to this late, but wow, such an album. Love the raw "live" sound, each song is heavy and groovy with the right amount of soul in it. Need to see these live. thehairybadger26

I love the desert and I've never had the pleasure of listening to something else that made me feel so strongly like I was in Arizona again. God tier album, god tier desert. Poop Metal Enjoyer

This just has some great vibes all around - from the energy of 56th Floor and Symphony of the ironic sympathy to the gentle, laid back Soul Keeper - it’s worth the time to listen to it all. potaytoes
Combining crooned murder ballads with raw, angsty hard rock hooks, Melbourne's The Ugly Kings are a wrecking crew well worth watching. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 15, 2021
